SAS Winches proudly announces their first contract for supplying a winch system to the dredging industry.

SAS will engineer, manufacture and deliver a 150mt draghead winch. The winch will be used onboard Van Oord Trailing suction hopper dredger HAM 318. After the lengthening of the vessel by 51 meter back in 2008 the suction pipe now also will be increased from 110 to 150 meter. With its hopper capacity of 37,500 m3 its is the second largest Trailing suction hopper dredger design in the world. 

The delivery of the winch is scheduled for early 2011.
